CSSIA the first comprehensive IT security center in the Midwest joins forces with NIATEC -- The National Information Assurance Training and Education Center.

The Informatics Research Institute and the National Information Assurance Training Center (NIATEC) are proud to announce a unique partnership with the Center for Systems Security and Information Assurance (CSSIA).
This is the first partnership between a national center one of the important regional centers in information assurance. This is a natural partnership.
- CSSIA addresses the needs for Information Technology security professionals by increasing faculty expertise and higher education training programs in IT security and data assurance.
CSSIA collects, categorizes, adapts, enhances, standardizes, and evaluates curriculum and offer training programs to community colleges and university faculty and students across the Midwest.
- NIATEC is a consortium of academic, industry, and government organizations to improve the literacy, awareness, training and education standards in Information Assurance.
The NIATEC mission is to establish an effective Information Assurance infrastructure for academic, industry and government organizations. It is the national repository for information assurance training and education center.
Professor Corey Schou, the director of the NIATEC points out that this cooperative relationship will benefit both community colleges and universities nation-wide. The CSSIA schools are a cross section of outstanding educational institutions. Their mission compliments the role of the NAITEC in developing curriculum components.
The director of the CSSIA, Mr. Erich Spengler directs a comprehensive center that brings together the efforts of seven prominent regional institutions. The partnership with NIATEC makes state of the art teaching materials available to our faculty and faculty development efforts
